dev log 11: out of town
hey folks!
I’m up north this week visiting my parents, and after the cardstock fiasco I didn't manage to get a test print done before my train. so, forced to postpone again, I present another post of something different.
I stayed a night with my sister in Lexington, which just so happened to be the eve of the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord. I figured we had to go check out the reenactment, it was practically right in her back yard. So we got up at 4am and walked out to the battle green where thousands of people crowded around the little park. We didn't get a great view as the battle unfolded, but I held up my camera over my head and stood on my tip toes and got some pretty decent pictures. Hoisting the 400mm lens is really a workout.
afterwards we went back and crashed before the parade, which consisted of many many fife and drum corps, a little kid doing martial arts, and what felt like hundreds of shriners in tiny cars.
(would recommend perusing the shriners Wikipedia page. insane stuff, even for an Ancient Masonic Order or whatever)
That night my parents came for dinner and I headed up to NH with them afterwards. While I don't have any cards up here I did find some fun and relevant things while going through all my old stuff. stay tuned for some revelations from 4th grade dev.
the substack app is finicky at best so I'm going to sign off here. hope everyone is hanging in there and staying weird.
